Jackfruit shawarma

Jackfruit shawarma:
1 can of jackfruit
1tbs shawarma spice from pereg (or any of your favorite spices )
2tbs olive oil
  • wash the jackfruit and slice into thin slices
  • On medium heat , nonstick skillet add olive oil and infuse it with the shawarma spices, when you start to smell it add jackfruit and sauté until it’s gold brown and crispy, add salt & pepper to taste,
  • remove from the skillet and serve with tahini dressing and pickled red onion salad
  • Tahini dressing:
1/2 cup tahini (any flavor)
1 lemon juice
1/4 cup cold water
Salt & pepper to taste
( recommend white pepper )
Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl and adjust consistency if need by adding lemon or water.
Pickled onion salad :
1 red onion ( medium size, sliced thin )
1/2 bunch parsley ( chopped )
1/2 bunch cilantro ( chopped )
1 lemon juice
2tbs olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well, it’s delicious and even taste better the next day ...
  • because we used lemon ( not vinegar ) the onion will pickled the next day and contains probiotics, add it to any of your meals , enjoy
